WHEN WILL THE 2018 EDITION OF PROSECCO CYCLING TAKE PLACE?

WHERE WILL THE CYCLISTS START THE RACE?

At Guglielmo Marconi Square, in Valdobbiadene (Treviso) – Italy, at 8:10 am.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Italian and foreign card-carrying and non card-carrying athletes of both sexes, aged between 18 and 75, with any kind of bicycle (racing bicycle, electric bicycle, gravel bike, touring bicycle, tandem, mountain bike, recumbent, handbike).

WHAT KIND OF MEDICAL CERTIFICATE IS REQUIRED?

The only kind of medical certificate accepted to participate in Prosecco Cycling is the medical certificate for competitive sports practice of cyclingpursuant to Art. 4 of Italian Ministerial Decree No. 164/24.04.2013 (issued in Italy by a SEM – sport and exercise medicine – physician or a Sports Medicine Center). Only for the resident population in Veneto Region the medical certificate will have to include the stamp of the local health and social care facility. The medical certificate is also required for Italian and foreign card-carrying cycling tourists and NON card-carrying athletes, and it must not be issued more than one year from the date of the event. Otherwise, participation will not be allowed. Certificates issued for other sports are not eligible, even if they are endurance sports, such as triathlon, athletics or similar.

HOW IS THE PARTICIPATION OF NON-CARD-CARRYING ATHLETES REGULATED?

In order to participate in the race, Italian and foreign non-card-carrying athletes, with no sports society and/or association, aged between 18 and 75, must pay a surcharge of € 10,00 in addition to the registration fee, (non-refundable in case of non-participation) for the activation of the multi-risk insurance policy + third-party liability insurance policy available online, provided as for the annual card-carrying athletes, limited to the duration of the event, which ensures the same coverage of the daily card.

HOW CAN YOU REGISTER TO THE PROSECCO CYCLING?

Exclusively online, directly on the website of Prosecco Cycling, with payment by credit card, PayPal, direct or ordinary bank transfer, by filling in the fields required by the organizer.

WHERE WILL THE DISTRIBUTION OF RACE PACKAGE AND TECHNICAL ENVELOPE TAKE PLACE?

On FridaySeptember 7th from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm and on SaturdaySeptember 8th, from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm at the Villa Sandi Estate, via Tesser, 1 in Valdobbiadene, loc. Zecchei.

CAN YOU DELEGATE ANOTHER PERSON FOR THE WITHDRAWAL OF RACE PACKAGE AND TECHNICAL ENVELOPE?

Yes, you can. The delegated persons for the withdrawal on behalf of third parties must provide proof of identity to be issued in copy and submit the delegation for the withdrawal on behalf of third parties available online, filled in and signed by the delegating party, as well as the required documentation pursuant to Art. 7, par. 2, points a) and b) of the Regulation.

WHAT ARE THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ROUTE?

Unique route: 96,4 Km – difference in level: 1550 m, that develops entirely in the Prosecco hills.

WHAT KIND OF TIMING SYSTEM WILL BE ADOPTED?

The timing service will be provided by MySDAM with chip technology. Each participant must be equipped with a personal MySDAM chip or Championship Yellow chip, or a daily rental chip. Other types of chips not expressly indicated are not allowed. The chip is compulsory for all participants and must be placed on the wheel or front fork of the bike. The daily chip including instructions for use can be rented at the registration office for € 5,00, by paying a deposit of € 10,00. The deposit, less than the cost of the rental, will be refunded upon return of the chip to be delivered after the race from 12:00 pm, at Villa dei Cedri in via Piva, Valdobbiadene (Treviso) – Italy.

HOW WILL THE RANKING LISTS BE SET UP?

INDIVIDUAL
The individual ranking list will be drawn up in alphabetic order based on the sum of the set Real Time timings, exclusively in the four uphill timed stretches provided and marked along the race route. However, it will be possible to visualize also the time spent for each single climbing in addition to the timing of the whole race with category and absolute position. The firsts classified of each category established by ACSI Cycling will be rewarded according to the sum of the times established in Real Time, exclusively in the four timed uphill stretches provided and marked along the race route. Participants with electric bikes will not be included in the category results lists. The first of the winners will be awarded with a prize, the first absolute at the finish line.

FUN TEAM
FUN TEAM ranking lists will reward the group composed without distinction by men and women and card-carrying athletes of the same team, who will make the best time on the entire race route (96,4 km – difference in level 1550 m). The group must be composed of a minimum number of 5 participants, who must pass on arrival within 30 minutes between the first and last of their members. This group will receive the trophy as the winning team of FUN TEAM 2018 and a supply of 48 bottles of Prosecco. The next four teams will receive, in order, 36, 24, 12 and 6 bottles.

TEAMS
The teams ranking lists will award the team (without distinction between men and women, card-carrying athletes of the same team) with the highest number of participants (minimum number: 8) which will ride across the finishing line within 30 seconds between the first and the last of its own enrolled members, within the maximum time of 4h and 45m. It will be given the trophy as winner of Prosecco Cycling 2018 and a supply of 60 bottles of Prosecco as prize. The next four teams will receive, in the order, 54, 48, 36 and 24 bottles. In the case of teams that set the same number of competitors within 30 seconds, the team whose first and last competitors are separated at the finishing from the shortest timing difference will prevail the others.
